Hello

I am Fríði Paulason Hentze

I’m a game audio designer….I think

About me

Sound designer

I’m a sound designer who likes game audio, interactive sound and generally making noises do things they weren’t originally supposed to do. I especially enjoy working with non-linear and adaptive audio, because apparently I like my audio with a little bit of free will. But not too much though. We don’t want a Terminator situation on our hands.

My work usually involves some combination of recording things, synthesising things, breaking things, putting them back together and eventually getting them into a game engine.

Absurdity and curiosity pique my interest. I love strange ideas. Some are terrible, some become surprisingly good, and some are like camels (hire me if you want to know why). A few probably should have remained thoughts.

Like most people working in a creative field, I occasionally suffer from the completely rational belief that everyone else knows exactly what they’re doing and I somehow snuck in through a side door.

I also have opinions on video game music, if that matters. Heal from ICO’s save screen is perfect. If they ever remake ICO, leave that track alone. And if you haven’t heard it — shame on you. Go listen to it now.

Also, I love sushi and ramen.
